Dear everyone who professes to be Christian,
Persecution. You probably don’t hear much about this word unless you look at different news
outlets. This has been a topic I try to stress the importance to Christians. People in America don’t hear
this word often because people are already in their little comfort zone, and they only pay attention to
what’s going on in their own world. Let me tell you some facts before I go on about this.
Over 100,000 Christians are killed each year because of their faith. That’s 100,000 brothers and
- Christianity is the most persecuted group in the world.
- Christian persecution is in at least 60 countries.
- Over 100 million Christians are persecuted.
I don’t think I need to continue with these heart wrenching statistics. Why am I talking to you about
this? To bring awareness, to bring light to the brothers and sister we have forgotten! All of those
Christians believe the same thing we believe! They will be in heaven with us! They are a part of the body
of Christ! And do you know what our reaction to this is? Silence. Absolute silence. We can’t be silent
because of this, the least we can do is not be comfortable with our surroundings. To not be comfortable
with our day to day life with our house, food, clothes and a country where its free to live in any religion.
We need to become radical about this. We need to stop thinking about ourselves and start thinking
about others. It’s time to rise, to bring these issues to light. We should be praying about these
Christians! We should be sending them letters full of encouragement! Why?! Because they are a part of
Jesus Christ too, they have killed their old self with Jesus Christ on the cross just like we did! The Bible
speaks about this!
Hebrews 13:3 says – “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those
who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”
We cannot be comfortable with this. We need to bring awareness to this. We need to pray for the
persecuted. We can’t be silent. Pray for revival my brothers and sisters. Be radical. Things will only get
worse before they get better.
