Letter 6 – Homosexuality

Dear everyone who professes to be Christian,

One of the biggest problems I have noticed in the Church, homosexuality, has become more common over the years. So many believers say its ok and that people can love whoever they want. Everyone has their own opinion, but they don’t listen to what God says. And sadly not many people are speaking out about it because it’s a controversial topic and they don’t want to judge. Brothers and sisters, homosexuality is a sin. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t love them or treat them differently. Love the sinner, hate the sin. I am not writing this letter out of hatred, I am writing it out of love because Christians have accepted and turned this sin into an “Ok” thing. What has happened to this world? The right is wrong and the wrong is right nowadays. Do not conform to the world! Remember, we are not of this world. The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong.

Leviticus 18:22 – You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 – Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Why are Christians joining into this sinful trend? It is wrong. And it breaks my heart to see believers say it is ok, yet God clearly states that it is an abomination. These verses are his loving warning.

Believers, do not pick and choose what you like or don’t like in the Bible. It is not Chex-mix. It is the Word of God. Do not be afraid to go against what the culture says!

Now, since I have said all of that. Do not treat homosexuals wrongly, treat them with the love of Jesus Christ! For example, Westboro Baptist Church, what you are doing is wrong. Yes, a 17 year old just called yall out. We are supposed to love everyone. That doesn’t mean we have to agree and support everything they say.

Mark 12:31 – The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.

Brothers and sisters wake up.

Shalom
