Letter 10 – The End

Dear all who professes to be Christian,

Are you prepared for the end times? Are you prepared for persecution? Are you ready for the Second Coming? Many people forget about the end times. Many people forget about the events leading up to the second coming. I have talked to many Christians that do not know the events. It concerns me because what will happen, is not a joke. It’s not fun and games. The final test, the birth pains, will be so horrible that it is unimaginable. Jesus describes these birth pains in Matthew 24:3-14. He talks about wars, earthquakes, famines and more. He then says, “All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.” Jesus confirmed to us that these horrible events are just the beginning. I hope you are thinking more about the preparation of the end times by now, but stay with me, it only gets worse before it gets better.

Continuing in chapter 24, Jesus mentions a prophecy from the Old Testament.

Matthew 24:15-20 – “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken by the prophet Daniel, standing the holy place, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.”

The verses are so important. It gives me sorrow for those who are unprepared for what is to come. Jesus says to flee when the abomination of desolation (2 Thessalonians 3-4) comes. If you do not know who that is, I definitely recommend you study who that person is. This person will claim he is god. Jesus tells us to flee when this person comes! He tells us not to go back to your house and get your belongings because they don’t matter! This person will bring massive destruction. Then Jesus says something that’s always shown me how important and hard these times will be. He says to have sorrow for women who are pregnant, nursing and to pray that your flight will not be in winter or on a Sabbath. That speaks for itself.

Now that I have described some of the events and signs, let’s talk how to prepare.

Luke 21:36 – “But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

We are commanded to stay awake. We should watch the world and watch for these signs. We must not go to sleep and focus on our daily lives. Stay awake brothers and sisters for the time is near. Then Jesus says to pray that we will be strengthened. Prayer is incredibly important. It is one of the basics of being a follower in Christ.

Brothers and sisters, none of this should give you fear or worry you. Jesus Christ promises us everlasting life for believing in him. (Matthew 24:13)

I pray this will help start your preparation brothers and sisters. The time is drawing closer. Things are getting worse. Stay strong. Stand strong. For Christ is with you.

Shalom
